the woman who rides like a man by tamora pierce is an exellent book. filled with rich details about life in a dessert tribe, this book is the third book in the allana series. in this novel, Allana is taken in to a desert tribe and is forced to fight to the death if she wants to see the sun rise again. will she live? what happens if she does live though? Well, whatever happens, there's a difficult fight ahead. Alana survives but she is made to be the tribes shaman. Also, to make duties even more difficult, there are three children who have the gift, but have not been taught how to control their magic- their gift.
I would rate this book ten stars out of ten, because there is a cliff hanger at every end of a page, and I really liked how Tamora Pierce made Alana seem so real. People who like adventure would love this book.

in the book The First Adventure by Tamora pierce, allana, the main character, risks it all too.set in Tortall, a very busy
city, there is a school for boys to learn how to become knights. Allana dreams of becoming a woman warrior, but it is unheard of, and her father has plans of Allana learning to be a lady in a dreary convent. luckily, Allana has a plan. cutting her hair and dressing up as a boy, Allana sneaks away from her father's realm and into the school of knights. Unfortunately, being a page (young studier) is not easy at all. But Allana , as bruised and scarred as she was, kept fighting on.

In Camp X by Eric Walters,
this spy camp is brought from fact to fiction. Two brothers named Jack and George stumble upon the camp while their mother is at work making planes for the war. Two armed soldiers with rifles tell the boys to shove off or else they would shoot. And that was only the beginning!Once Jack and George heard that, they quickly stumbled away. But afterwards, they decided to go back. This time, Jack and George got captured.
I liked the twists in the story and how the author made Camp X seem like a mystery so you wanted to know exactly what the camp was. There really wasn't anything I didn't like about it. I would like a sequel to the story since it didn't tell who the head of the camp was exactly.
People who like historical fiction, spies, or adventure will like this book, especially if they liked TRICKSTER'S CHOICE and THE WEDNESDAY WARS. I give this book 10 stars!

THE SHOT
Small dab,
deep prick.
A thousand sobs
inside of me
now out.
It's over now.
Not so in my frenzied heart.
CROW'S CALL
A crow's call,
soft light.
Tis day?
Twas night.
The moon dipped,
the sun rises.
I yawn, stretch,
then slump
back in bed.
LONG ROAD
A long road
from here to there.
Worn travellers,
wandering
aimlessly.
GHOSTS
Ghosts fill the air.
A clammy hand...
my own!
I fall down.

The Lacemaker and The Princess by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley is an enchanting story.
Set in the time of Marie Antoinette, this book talks about a lacemaker's daughter and her new friend, Marie Antoinette's daughter, the princess of France. Isabelle, the main character and the lacemaker's daughter, is sent on a mission to give lace to Her Majesty Queen Marie. She then almost gets trampled by the palace courtiers and is only just saved by the Queen herself. Isabelle is asked by Marie to become a playmate of her daughter. This story is about the hard times and explains what happened from an insider's view to Marie Antoinette and her family.
The book is great, except for the ending. You can't just leave your best friend to die, could you?
Well, anyway, this book would have been 10 stars, but because of the AWFUL ending, I rate this book 6 stars.

and also, joan's (our main character in The Wild Girls by pat murphy) life is hard and complicated.joan has parents who are fighting, and who are strungling to agree on even one little thing. Then, suddenly, Joan moves from Conneticut to California in 1972. From the way things worked out, Joan bumped into a punkish sort of girl who can nail somebody with a rock in about thirty feet of distance from her (or so she claims). Also, the girl calls herself 'fox.' Together, Joan and Fox start to have a great relationship together. Joan finds out that Fox's mom has 'turned into a fox' from the way that Fox said it. But soon Fox and Joan have to start school. While Fox was brave, proud, and "in charge" in the forest, in school Fox is sort of a meek, small, and feeble-ish girl. Next the girls find that there is a young authors contest happening. Together they write a book and win the talent show. An adult author named Verla is doing a summer camp on writing for young kids that she selects, and, well, Joan and Fox are 'selected.' Soon they begin cam. But then, Fox found out that her mom wasn't a fox in one short letter, and Fox and Joan's friendship are tested. What will happen next?
Read to find out.

| The Golden Compass | 10 stars | a very good book with lots of details and adventure, but I teared up at the end because it was sad |

Dear booksters,
Who would you rather have as a friend: lady saren or aerin the dragon killer?
Most ever so sincerely,
ara star
dear ara star,
i would really chose aerin as my friend. aerin stays true and loyal to her friends and her people. also, aerin shows some guts. i really think its important to be a girl with guts.aerin can weild a shield and a sword properly.also, aerin can ride a horse well, is a mage, is half immortal, and can weild the heroe's crown. plus, aerin uses conmon sense. most princesses don't use common sense and end up terribly wrong. aerin sol is also spunky, and, hey! thats cool with me.
truly,

What I think about reading
By booksters
I like to read because it is pleasurable.
I see a lot of benefits in reading. I can go to sleep better. This action also makes me feel very adventurous! And, while some books are fast – paced, others make me calm down.
I think, as a reader, I do a lot of important things well. I get emotional on sad books, I enjoy great reads, I don’t go racing through books, and I don’t destroy pages.
I read daily. I read at school, at home, I read at hotels, I read at the park, and I read in the car. I read novels, and I read adventure and magic books.
Some of my favorite books are The Thief By Megan Whalen Turner, because of whitty and sarcastic humor, and Bartimeus by Jonathon Stroud, because of whitty demons and emotional characters.
My favorite all-time author is Jonathon Stroud who wrote Bartimeus, because of all the humor (I laughed so hard I had a stomach ache), and the sadness when Nathaniel, a main character, dies.

please tell me, which spy
should i take as a companion? Nancy Drew or cammie morgan? i am going to spy schhol in california..............................
- nemisis jagged / n.j.
dear n.j.,
i would say deffinately cammie because
1. she is able to be as camoflauged as a camilion
2. she has been to spy school herself
3. she knows fourteen different languages
4. she knows alot about technology
5. she has great reflexis
6. she is expirenced.
i think that the book about cammie is also quite useful, because the book is talking about cammie's excperiences, it is from cammie morgans point of view, it inspires people to do whatever they want to do because the book talks about facing your fears, and it is just a great book that makes you feel ready to do whatever you need to do.

Dear Booksters,
If I was going on a space expedition, who should I take: the crew from Enchantress of the Stars or the kids in Larklight?
~Staying Alive in Outer Space
Dear Staying Alive,
I would definitely take the crew from Enchantress of the Stars if I were you. You should remember that the ”crew” is way more advanced than the kids from Larklight. I mean, it’s your choice, bet I would, personally, choose the “crew”.
To the readers of Booksters, without further ado, I shall give you just these 2 tips:
1. Read both of these amazing tales, for these books are far better than you could believe,I don’t want to spoil things,
2. And read them and enjoy!
Also, S.A., you must be aware of the dangers of space. In Mars you could turn into a changeling tree! I hope you have loads of fun. Oh, yes, I will give you a list of essential things to pack.
ESSENTIALS TO PACK:
1 a sunbathing suit (for the visit to the sun)
2 an umbrella (for the sun)
3 a first aid kit (you know why)
4 a watch (everybody needs to tell space time!)
5 an automatic oxygen (you just never know if your body stops the force field!)
6 a long dress with lots of pockets (handy!)
7 a jumpsuit (also handy!)
8 a pocket’s worth of gold (for trading and emergencies.)
9 17 hair bands ( super handy for your hair and tying things!)
10 2 other spaceships with backup (to be safe!)
11 duct tape (the most usefle of items!!!!)
Have an amazing time!

Dear Booksters, I have just met Artemis Fowl. I have a deal to make with him. What should I do?
Dear Aly ,
This “deal” is very dangerous. Never trust Artemis. He uses trickery.
I will tell you the history of Artemis. At the age of 12, Artemis fowl kidnapped a fairy. She was part of the LEP recon, which was an advanced group of fairies.
I repeat, never trust Artemis.
But at the age of 13, Artemis started to be good. Remember this though, Artemis uses trickery on strangers. I hope that this piece of info helps you. Also, be very formal with Artemis.
